Another shindig at Hatton Castle, Newtyle (PH12 8UN).

Apologies if you have received this information already via another list, but Mike and Patsy have asked me to let you know of an upcoming house concert at Hatton Castle…anyone welcome!

Another shindig at Hatton Castle, Newtyle (PH12 8UN).
Saturday 21st November, 7.30 pm

Abby Newton, probably the finest cellist in Scottish Music, and a lovely person, from New York. Accompanied by Kim Robertson on Harp and Mairi Campbell on Fiddle. All top quality!

Usual rules… 7.30 start, bring family and friends, bring £10 a head (at least) for the musicians’ hat (not for me!). and BYOB. There will undoubtedly be a session later for anyone with an instrument and stamina.

Come! RSVP if possible, to let us know numbers

Hope you can make it along to our weekend festival, which looks to be our best yet. We welcome Beòlach, one of Cape Breton’s most exciting young bands, who will perform and teach over the weekend. We offer a warm return to Mats Melin, one of dannsa’s former members, who will be bringing Irish dancers and musicians to perform, from the University of Limerick. The ‘home-ground’ performers will excite you; The Bella MacNab Ceilidh Band, Alba Flamenca and, of course, ‘dannsa’. Our tutors are some of the best there are; Jim Barry teaching Irish Set Dance , Saliha Haouach teaching Flamenco, Angus Nicolson and John Sikorski from Skye as well as dannsa’s own regulars. The weekend is truly a festival of Highland culture, with dance at the heart….. whether you can only make it to a class or two, or the whole weekend we look forward to seeing you!

I was on the 'One and Other' 4th plinth in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 13th
September. We had an absolutely ball - I didn't sleep a wink the night after it
all happened! You can watch a recording of the hour, mark your favourite
moments, and leave messages here:

We launched a charity auction from the plinth top, with a lovely new, as yet
un=-named tune from Sarah Northcott. Bid in the charity auction and win the
right to name the new plinth tune! The money bid by the winner will go to a
charity of their choice. Full details
